This was our second visit to the Gloria Palace, staying for a week of winter sun, all inclusive, and we were not disappointed in any way. We had contacted the hotel in advance to request our favourite bedrooms from last year (3504) and were delighted to be allocated the room we had requested. Swift, friendly efficient service, cases delivered to the room as soon as we'd finished our welcome drink and delighted to find the rooms had been refurbished. Excellent bathrooms, spacious and powerful shower. Everywhere so clean. Bedroom comfortable and Sky News/Sports available in the rooms as well as BBC World.

Meals were excellent with an amazing variety of food - omelettes and cooked breakfasts in addition to the normal Continental selection, lunch either by the pool or in the dining room and dinner in the dining room. Sometimes seemed a little crowded but always found a table and waiting staff very helpful and friendly in clearing tables etc.

The only slight downside is some of the evening entertainment was a bit odd - birds of prey one night and reptiles another - but there are always areas to sit and enjoy a drink and a chat with friends so this didn't worry us unduly.

Will definitely be going back - just got to lose the half stone I put on first! [Hide]

We've just got back from two glorious weeks at the Gloria Palace. From check-in (where we received a glass of cava) to check-out everything was fab and we felt very lucky to be staying at such a great hotel. The staff on reception are helpful and friendly and when I reported problems (bulb on the balcony went out and the toilet wouldn't flush one day) they were dealt with within 20 minutes! The Spa is lovely and we went on the tour and got a two for one voucher which we enjoyed using. Oscar in the Lobby Bar and the two young ladies down in the pool bar (not the adult pool) are brilliant, super fast and so so friendly. The bedroom and bathroom huge and cleaned to a very high standard every day. Food was plentiful and very varied and the staff in the dining room so pleasant with a friendly word and a smile and chat. We neer had one problem with food or drink service while there and the All Inclusive option worked very well for us. We did eat out a few times as we were out on trips etc so did sample quite a varied menu. Carl, the Thomas Cook rep, was fun and efficient and organised our trips which we thoroughly enjoyed. I don't understand why anyone complains about this hotel as we couldn't find one single fault. We will return to Gloria Palace next time we visit Gran Canaria. [Hide]

The location of the hotel is perfect - all the rooms look out to sea, amadores or puerto rico Clear Blue Seas are just a 10 minute walk in either direction along the promenade, and the centre of puerto rico just a couple of minutes further. Food was excellent - always a wide choice. Staff can be a bit off, but that's part and parcel of continental tempraments! The spa is well worth visiting, and thee are plenty of sunloungers to relax in around either of the two outdoor pools. Would highly recommend it to anyone. [Hide]

I went to this hotel with my husband and 4 year old daughter and it was fantastic, we were on the 4th floor, with a balcony looking over the sea, room was beautiful, food fantastic (we went all inclusive) I would definetely recommed all inclusive, entertainment during the day for my little girl and my husband enjoy the archery, water polo, pool and shooting, at night the entertainment was great, went to the mini disco then there was entertainment afterwards as well (Lord of Dance was fantastic), went to both Clear Blue Seas then were lovely, you don't need to move away from this hotel it was 1st class and we will definetely be back. I would recommend this hotel to everybody. They also had glass lift looking over the sea. [Hide]

We had stayed at the sister hotel in San Augustin on 2 occasions since 2001 and couldn't wait to try this new hotel built only in Feb 2003. We had stayed at the sister hotel in San Augustin on 2 occasions since 2001 and couldn't wait to try this new hotel built only in Feb 2003. Every room has breathtaking views of the sea and the sunsets from your balcony are wonderful. The hotel is super clean, especially in public areas.Rooms very spacious. Food is great but can become a bit boring the buffet/ self service aspect. You might need to break away one or two nights to a local restaurant for a change of menu.Great for families as well as they have Animacion to entertain all ages of kids. Entertainment every night (disco/cabaret style acts). Very convenient for the two resorts of Puerto Rico and Amadores.The contrast of these two is worth experiencing; the hotel has a panoramic lift down to a lovely coastal path that leads either way to the two resorts mentioned.In conclusion, everything you could want from a holiday in the sun; we'll go again and again as we loved the place.
